worth adding in something about all characters are of consenting age.....?

The problem is that such a statement has no place in law. US law does NOT prohibit depictions of sex between minors. It is protected under free speech.

I am adding that to the warnings of some of my fictions, where actually applicable. The annoyance for me is that fictional characters were never actually born and so their age is not subject to consent laws. It find it ridiculous to for LJ or anyone else to assert it should.

Just want to say "You Rock!". I don't know many others that know and/or stand up for their freedom of speech rights. Most just follow the crowd and write every warning they can possibly think of.

It has always bothered me that fan fiction writers feel the need to post sex/violence/character death warnings when published books do not. It ruins the intended effect such literary devices are used to create in the first place.

better write all precaution that you can think: warning, disclaimer, author notes. because those guys always look some loop and you don't want to get into their trap, right?

hm... i think you should adding like,
* this contains slash, m/m pairing. (if you doing slash)
* if someone reading with or without knowledge of it (either the slash or the legal ages or both), you should not be charge for the responsibility.

i think... that's all what usually people put. hm... just be careful then. one of my f-list just got warning because someone report her for her posting without really know what it contains (it's a parody for got sake!), and she couldn't do about it. T-T

oh well, have-fun-go-mad, ne? =)

This is not in place of the warnings or rating, but in the disclaimer which references copyright issues.
